Sports are more than competitions. To me, they mean growth under the care of others. I learned this the hard way.

I used to be very shy and often felt lonely. Although I did well in all the academic subjects, I was afraid of physical education. My classmates often laughed at me.

“Look at that girl,” they said. “Her feet don’t leave the ground when she runs!”

Their words embarrassed me. Moreover, whenever the teacher organized some competitive games, no one in the class liked to have me as their partner or team member. As a result, I often ended up looking at others enjoy their games.

Things would go on like that if not for a sports meet in my high school. By mistake, my name was put on the list of those who would compete in the women’s 1500 meters race. By the time people found the mistake, it was too late to change.

My desk-mate was a natural athlete. She said to me, “I couldn’t run that race in your place, because I’ve signed up for three items already.” Other athletic girls of the class said the same.

I was utterly dumbfounded. 1500 meters! Running against the best runners from other classes! And in front of students of the entire school! It would be the worst nightmare I’d ever have!

“You still have time to catch up because there is still one month before the sports meet,” they all said this to me, including my teacher.

My desk-mate patted me on the shoulder, “Cool! You will run for our class! And we will do training together.” Yes, this is not just for myself, but for my class too, I said to myself. But still, 1500 meters to me was like Mount Everest to a beginning climber. I had no idea even how to start my preparation.

Fortunately, my desk-mate gave me a hand. Every afternoon after class, several of us ran together. When the fear of being laughed at struck me, I saw others running right beside me. They gave me strengths. While we were running, some others would stand by the tracks cheering for us.

One month certainly couldn’t make me a good runner. But when I was standing behind the start line, I no longer felt lonely or afraid. I saw my classmates standing by the tracks waving at me as if about to run beside me.

With the shot of the starting gun, I dashed out and ran as fast as I could, as if it were a 200-meter race. Soon I was out of breath and slowed down. Other runners passed me one by one, and gradually I had no idea how many of them were still behind me. My legs were getting heavier and heavier, and I might fall down at any moment. However, I suddenly heard my classmates chanting my name. My desk-mate even ran along the tracks beside me and cheered for me at the same time, just like the month-long training we did together.

As expected, I was almost the last to cross the finish line. Immediately, my classmates held my arms and urged me to walk on my feet and not to sit down. I was surrounded, with all kinds of drinks handed to me. I felt a kind of warmth I had never felt before. Even though I was almost the last to finish the race, I was full of confidence that I would improve in the future.

That sports meet was an unforgettable experience. The memory of my classmates cheering for me, holding my arms and handing me drinks stays fresh on my mind. Sports are no longer about winning or losing. They give me a lot of confidence, both confidence in my fellow students and confidence in my own potential. I am no longer lonely, no longer afraid. Sports have brought me close to my classmates and helped us grow together.

Now, I participate in the sports meet every year. Even if I am not competing, I would help my classmates with their practice, just like the way my desk-mate and others ran with me.

Thanks to the progress made by the advancing science and technology, especially the development of intelligentization, schemed out by robots, unmanned driving and digital platform, offers great convienience to both the production and daily lives of human beings and promotes the social progress.

But under no circumstances should we admit that a series of problems on environment and social ethics concerning environment pollution, ozonocavity, greenhouse effect, colon human and nuclear deterrent occurred against the prosperity carried out by science and technology. Karl Poopper once said, the elimination of culture leads to the disappearance of civilization. It is obviously that if the promotion effect had been omitted, the science and technology could have been far-reached.

The culture smart guides our society into stability and prosperity. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.

He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.

Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.

In short, it is important that we don’t give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. thank you very much for choosing to come in such a cold y my topic is about choice and process.a research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. in my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. there is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference. 非常感谢你傅聪来选择在这样一个寒冷夜晚.今天我的话题是关于选择和process.a研究表明，一个人必须作出的选择73一一天，如此众多的选择，有一天，人们容易混淆，因此害怕作出错误的选择，他们毫不犹豫地并最终错过了真正的生活的一部分。在我看来，下面的部分是更重要的不是选择。没有绝对的对错选择，但精彩或乏味的生活，这使得该进程的差异。

life is a box of chocolate,you never know what you will get. forrest gump made no decision by and for himself but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. the process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. take myself as an example, i changed my major when i became a postgraduate. after the choice,days have been harsh for me.i cannot understand the new lessons at all. for they are closely related to mathmatics which i learned nothing about before. however wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself,i persisted. i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life. gradually i could understand some parts and even found maths over, i learned to act instead of complaining. in retrospect,the choice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four months becomes an unforgetable experience in my life.

I"ll tell you an experience of myself happened last week. last thursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance,because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job. fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind.

At that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that i"m not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one. then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and don"t need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father,until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day.

At that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before,the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents,sometimes they"ll be angry with us, and sometimes we can"t quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child.

They are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them,but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are. so from now on, let"s care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. that"s what i want to tell you today. thank you!

Everyone has a beautiful dream and personal life on the way that we hunt for the keys of acheving our dreams,there are many difficulties appearing,thus,several timid men give in to them,one after another,some peaple lost their first dreams and even !Many characters and pretty or handsome stars around us,we are obesessed with some of those,and even ad occean of peaple volunteer to imitate those ver,as we turn back,we will find in surprise,the tree is still the old tree,the house is still, everything is still the didn`t change them a little.

The same as our competitions,teachers always say:"You`d better read more essays and memorize some perfect or wonderful sentenses,it`s helpful for your writing level."Well!I don`t think so! Personally,I feel we must keep on our styles and priciple,due to this,when readers read our essays,they might learn about us better,therefore we will become happier to make the life colorful and ,I support that we read more books,rather than recite more essays.

Being true to yourself implies if you are delighted,then you laugh,if you are sad,then you cry,don`t hide your mood,do not be on your dream which is deep in your hear.
